No mention of rain today.  But much comment about Charlie’s bike gearing.  He doesn’t say in this piece but I think he normally rides a fixed gear, and his delight at finding hill climbing so much faster and easier with a modest reduction in gearing, something of a revelation for him!  (But you cannot beat a fixed gear in winter, can you? – Ed).
