1922 was a significant year for Charlie (and for us) because this is the year that he decided to start keeping a diary. Like so many other people putting in place their New Year resolutions Charlie made his first entry on the 1st January. It was a nervous start as it was more than 3 weeks before the next entry appeared – or perhaps it was just not cycling weather. Anyway, we soon see that the entries started to flow in.
Whether you are starting here and mean to trace Charlie’s development as a writer or whether you are looking back, having already sampled some of his later material, I am sure that you won’t be disappointed by what you find here.
